Disney World - Act 1
As many of you may remember, my step-dad was featured on the show "Undercover Boss" back in January of this year. As his reward for participating, he was given a trip to Disney World with our family from Mack Trucks. It was a wonderful gift - a chance for the kids to be in one of their favorite places and for all of us to make some amazing memories with them. After a lot of planning, the time arrived and we flew to Orlando last week.
Mack Trucks was so thoughtful and actually flew my parents to DC early in the morning, so we could all fly to Florida together. The kids did great on the plane and the trip was so smooth. They arranged for us to stay at Bay Lake Towers, a beautiful new resort right next to the Magic Kingdom. We had a 2 bedroom suite, complete with a full kitchen and washer/dryer (hooray!!!). Disney upgraded us to a gorgeous room on the 14th floor overlooking the park and the lake. We could sit out on our balconies and watch the night time fireworks and the water parade.

When we checked into our resort, we were informed we were the "Family of the Day". I asked what that meant and was told to turn around. Behind us were 8 staff members with bunches of balloons for the kids. They gave us a special welcome and the kids were both excited to play with the balloons. When we entered our room, Disney had put together incredible gift baskets for the kids - dolls, stuffed Mickey's autograph books, ear hats, pins, cups, photo frame, toys, etc. It was so kind of them.

The night we arrived we had dinner reservations at the Cape May Cafe. We had never been there before. The food was great!! It was a buffet, clam bake style. I worried about finding food for Waverly, given the change in her eating habits. However, we could always find soups, pastas, mashed potatoes, or other soft/pureed foods for her. Oliver is my picky eater, but somehow Grandma got him to try a crab leg. He was hooked and my mom spent most of dinner cracking crab legs for him as fast as she could.
